Windows 2000 Dial-up Username Change
-
Click on the Start button —> Settings —> Control Panel to enter the Control Panel.
-
Locate and double-click on the “Internet Options” icon. A window labeled “Internet Properties” will open.
-
Click on the “Connections” tab at the top.
-
You should see your The Computer Works connection listed in the white box “Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings”. This is probably called “tcworks.net” or “The Computer Works” but could also be “My Connection” or anything else that you chose when you configured your computer. It probably has “(Default)” next to it.
Click on your The Computer Works connection once with your left mouse button to select it. Then click on the “Settings” button. A “Settings” window will open.
-
Make sure your username is entered as username@tcworks.net in the “User name:” field. In most cases you should only need to add "@tcworks.net" to the end of the user name.
-
Click the “OK” to close the “Settings” window. You will now be back in the “Internet Properties” window.
-
Click the “Apply” button then the “OK” button.
-
Close the “Control Panel” window and connect normally.
