Web Publishing
All tcworks.net customers have 20mb of space to use for a personal web page, your URL will be http://users.tcworks.net/~username. There are several ways to get your web pages to the server.
Web Design
All web design packages work with our server, including, but not limited to: Dreamweaver, iWeb, Microsoft FrontPage, Hotdog, Netscape Composer, and text editors.
No matter what program you use to design your web pages, keep this in mind: The primary file in any directory must be index.htm or index.html if you wish to be able to access the directory without having to specify a filename. i.e. http://users.tcworks.net/~jdoe/index.htm would load by entering http://users.tcworks.net/~jdoe. Where as http://users.tcworks.net/~jdoe/default.htm would require the entire URL, including filename, to be entered.
File Transfer
Using an FTP Client
- FTP to users.tcworks.net
if you are using our hosting service for your domain website, FTP to www.your.domain - Logon on with your username and password
- Change to the public_html directory
- Transfer all files and directories.
Using FrontPage Express
- Use Web Publishing Wizard
- Publish to http://users.tcworks.net/~username if you are using our hosting service for your domain website, publish to http://www.your.domain/
- Enter your username and password
